Title: Samsung and Habitat LA Help Wildfire Survivors Feel at Home Again Publish Date: 9.25.2026 Category: Care Through Samsung’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Samsung employees and Care experts helped wildfire survivors rebuild, reconnect and return to the routines of home. On September 24, Samsung Electronics America employees and members of the Samsung Care team joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) for its ReBUILD LA™ Community Build in the Pacific Palisades and Malibu, where more than 200 volunteers, wildfire survivors, local residents and community partners came together to help families continue the long road home following the Los Angeles wildfires. For Pacific Palisades homeowner Theodore Ang, Samsung’s support marked an important step forward. While his home remained standing, it sustained significant smoke and fire damage, leaving his appliances unusable and requiring flooring repairs, smoke remediation and other work. Through Habitat LA’s ReBUILD LA™ program, Theodore has been working to restore the home where he built a life with his wife of 50 years. As part of Samsung’s ongoing partnership with Habitat LA, Theodore received new Samsung appliances and electronics for his home, including a Bespoke AI Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Inner Beverage Center™, Washer and Dryer, OLED 4K TVs and Galaxy Z Fold8. But Samsung’s support didn’t stop when the products arrived. Our Samsung Care experts provided white-glove set-up, getting Theodore’s new products installed, connected and ready to use. Making the Transition Home Easier For families rebuilding after a disaster, replacing damaged appliances and electronics is only one part of returning home. Once those products arrive, there is still the practical work of getting everything installed, connected and ready to use. That’s where Samsung Care came in. Following the installation, Samsung Care experts helped Theodore complete the set up and registration of his products, connect them to WiFi and Samsung SmartThings, as well as walk through the features, answering questions and showing him how to get the most out of his new appliances, TVs and mobile devices. The experience reflects Samsung Care’s broader approach to customer support: making technology easier to use from the start and being there when customers need help down the road. The white-glove experience was designed to extend beyond installation to help homeowners with set up, connectivity and understanding their new products. “Our partnership with Habitat LA is about helping families navigate some of the practical challenges that come with returning home and rebuilding after a disaster,” said Jasper Morse, Director, Customer Care at Samsung Electronics America. “For our Care team, that means making technology one less thing to worry about and giving homeowners confidence that Samsung will be there whenever they need us.” For Theodore, the new appliances and electronics address an immediate need while helping restore a home filled with decades of memories. The support also helps reduce a significant financial burden and allows him to remain safely and independently in his home as he continues rebuilding. Helping LA Wildfire Survivors Move Forward Theodore’s story is part of a much larger recovery effort that continues across Los Angeles. Samsung’s participation in the Community Build expands on the company’s $1 million product donation announced in February 2025 to support Los Angeles wildfire relief through Habitat LA, Team Rubicon and the Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation. “For families impacted by the wildfires, rebuilding is a long journey, and returning home is about so much more than repairing walls and roofs,” said Erin Rank, President and CEO, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. “With partners like Samsung, we can help homeowners restore the everyday essentials and routines that make a house feel like home and take another important step forward in their recovery.” Bringing Care to More Homes Through the partnership, Habitat LA is connecting eligible wildfire-affected homeowners with Samsung products to help replace essential appliances and electronics as they rebuild and return home. So far, some of the most commonly selected Samsung products include the Bespoke AI Side-by-Side Refrigerator, Bespoke Slide-in Induction Range, Smart Front Load Washer and Dryer, and the Free Standing Gas Range, reflecting the everyday essentials families need as they return home and rebuild their routines. Samsung’s support extends beyond the products themselves, helping homeowners get their new technology set up and ready to become part of their everyday routines. While every family’s recovery looks different, the goal is the same: help remove some of the everyday obstacles that stand between rebuilding a house and feeling at home again.
